Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ThriftStores.io (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. What the Site is

ThriftStores.io is an informational directory of secondhand retail locations in the United States — thrift, secondhand, consignment, vintage, and antique stores and flea markets — together with editorial guides about shopping, donating, and reselling secondhand. We are not affiliated with any store, chain, or charity listed unless expressly stated.

2. Permitted use

You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes: finding stores, reading guides, and sharing links to our pages. You may not scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Site’s content or data beyond what search engines ordinarily do; republish our guides or compiled listings without permission; use the Site to send unsolicited communications; or interfere with its operation. Store data derived from OpenStreetMap remains available under its own open license directly from OpenStreetMap.

3. Accuracy of listings

Listings are compiled from public sources and updated regularly, but stores open, close, move, and change hours faster than any directory can track. Information on the Site is provided “as is” for general reference. Always confirm hours, addresses, donation policies, and prices with the store before relying on them. We do not guarantee that any listing is current, complete, or accurate, and we are not responsible for wasted trips, refused donations, or other consequences of relying on listing information.

4. Guides are general information

Our guides reflect general knowledge and experience about secondhand shopping, donating, and reselling. They are not legal, tax, financial, or safety advice. Tax rules, product safety regulations, and platform policies change; verify anything material with the relevant authority or a qualified professional before acting on it.

5. Ratings and rankings

Where a page shows a star rating, it is a third-party public rating displayed only when it rests on a minimum number of reviews, and where a page ranks stores, the ranking is computed from those public ratings by a published method. We do not accept payment for placement, ratings, or rankings, and stores cannot buy a position on the Site.

6. Advertising and affiliate links

The Site may display advertising served by third parties such as Google AdSense, and some guides may contain affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a purchase through them at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence which stores appear in the directory or how they are ranked. See our privacy policy for how advertising partners use cookies.

7. Third-party sites

Listings link to store websites, mapping services, and other third-party sites we do not control. Their content and policies are their own; a link is not an endorsement.

8. Submissions

When you send us a correction or a new store, you confirm the information is accurate to your knowledge and grant us permission to publish it, edited as needed. We may decline any submission. The Site has no user accounts and stores no submitted data itself; messages are sent by your own email.

9. Intellectual property

The Site’s guides, design, and compiled presentation are © ThriftStores.io. Underlying map and place data are © OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database License and GeoNames under CC BY 4.0, with attribution in the footer of every page. Store names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the stores.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThriftStores.io and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site or reliance on its content. The Site is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms as the Site evolves. The date above shows the current version; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
