Plato's Closet buys gently used items outright for cash or store credit, so you can sell as well as shop; see our Plato's Closet guide for what it takes and how payouts work.

Before you go
- Ask at the register which tag color is on sale this week and which is newest — the sale racks are cheap, the newest racks are where fresh donations land.
- Check garments under good light for stains and test every zipper; most thrift sales are final.
- Bring a tape measure and your key measurements — sizes vary wildly across eras and brands.
- It’s closed on Sunday — plan the visit for another day.
- Selling? Bring items clean, folded, and in season; buy-sell-trade stores pay more in store credit than in cash.
