Many dealers negotiate on larger pieces, especially for cash. Buffalo Exchange buys gently used items outright for cash or store credit, so you can sell as well as shop; see our Buffalo Exchange guide for what it takes and how payouts work.

Before you go
- Bring cash and ask politely whether there is any flexibility on price — many dealers discount 10–20% for cash.
- Check marks, joints, and repairs; a phone photo of the maker’s mark lets you look up comparable sold prices before you commit.
- Measure doorways and your vehicle before falling for a large piece — most antique stores are cash-and-carry.
- Selling? Bring items clean, folded, and in season; buy-sell-trade stores pay more in store credit than in cash.
