About Savers / Value Village

Savers (branded Value Village in some markets) is a for-profit thrift retailer. It buys donated goods by the pound from nonprofit partners — the donations you drop at a Savers community donation center are credited to a partner charity, and the store resells them.

Donating (or selling) to them

Donation centers at most stores accept clothing, housewares, books, and small goods on behalf of the local nonprofit partner. Because it is a for-profit intermediary, your tax receipt names the partner charity, not Savers itself.

Shopping there

Stores are large, well-sorted, and consistently stocked — closer to a department-store layout than a charity shop. Watch for member days and holiday sales through their loyalty program.
